About Dr. Pree
Hey, I’m Pree!
I am the psychologist behind She Speaks. I am fervently driven in wanting to enhance the lives of my clients, and women in general. In my career to date, no matter the psychology setting, I have noticed a recurring theme of women not feeling or being listened to, not having agency and autonomy in their own lives, and struggling against the societal pressures placed upon us. If you can relate, I am here to help you get your voice heard.
I am a feminist (i.e. believe in equal rights and opportunities for all people) on a mission to dismantle the patriarchy. I am particularly focused on doing this in areas that affect women strongly, including:
dismantling diet culture and the toxic beauty standards we are held to
deconstructing patriarchal motherhood, instead taking a matricentric feminist lens and seeking to unpack and rise against the unrealistic expectations placed on mothers
fighting medical misogyny
Connection is my jam. I believe the foundation of good therapy is a strong relationship.
This doesn’t mean we will just do “talk therapy”, or that I will always tell you what you want to hear. Therapy is about trust and honesty, and with a solid connection you can be supported to work through your challenges and find new ways to get your needs met. Additionally important values in therapy to me are: integrity, compassion and mutual respect, centering you as the expert in your own life, empowerment, advocacy and transparency.
My qualifications and professional affiliations:
Bachelor of Psychology (Honours)
Doctor of Psychology (Health)
AHPRA Registered Psychologist
Member of the Australian Psychological Society
Motherhood Studies Practitioner
Currently working towards ANZAED Eating Disorder Credential
